IIn a recent review for her appearance in the Jacaranda Concert Series, Alan Rich called Jacquelynne Fontaine "an enchanting soprano new to us and all the more wondrous for that".  The 2008 NATS/LA “Singer of the Year”, Ms. Fontaine has appeared as the guest soprano with many symphony orchestras including the Conejo Pop's "Night in Vienna Gala" at the Thousand Oaks Kavli Performing Arts Center, with South Coast Symphony’s Opening Night Gala, and with the USC Thornton, Bakersfield, and Glendale Symphonies. She sang at a special recital for “Operas Without Singing”, a tribute to Erich Wolfgang Korngold, performing for the Korngold Family, was the soprano soloist last summer in Santa Monica's Requiem by Zeisl.

This spring, she was the featured soprano in “Rainforest in Paris” with the Jacaranda Concert Series in Santa Monica, and in Boulder, CO at a world premiere Requiem. This April she performed a concert at Villa Aurora of Walter Arlen songs, the soprano soloist in Carl Orff's Carmina Burana with the Pasadena Master Chorale, and the role Donna Elvira in Mozart's Don Giovanni with the USC Opera. In May, Ms. Fontaine is featured as the guest soprano in a gala event honoring Maestro Stefano Vignati, and in June will perform on the Manhattan Beach concert series. This summer she will perform the other female lead, Donna Anna, in Don Giovanni, with the Tuscia Operafestival in Viterbo Italy.

Recent stage roles include Pamina in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, touring Italy with the Tuscia Operafestival, Alma in Lee Hoiby's Summer and Smoke, Ilia in Mozart’s Idomeneo with the USC Thornton Opera, and Cundegonde in Leonard Bernstein’s Candide. She appeared with Broadway star Dale Kristien in “What a Pair 4,” a breast cancer benefit for the John Wayne Cancer Institute, and “Help is on the Way for the Holidays VIII” at the Herbst Theater in San Francisco. She has also performed benefit recitals for the New West Symphony, Glendale Adventist Hospital, Center Stage Opera, and Habitat for Humanity. Professional recitals have included “Arts at St. Patrick's” in Thousand Oaks, “Songs of Summer” in Santa Monica, “NATS Young Artist of the Year” at Biola University, and in Boulder, CO.

On July 1st of 2006, Ms. Fontaine was crowned Miss California. At the Miss America 2007 competition in Las Vegas on January 29th, she placed in the top ten, won audience’s choice for swimsuit, and won the preliminary talent award for her performance of “Vissi d’arte” from Puccini’s Tosca. As Miss California, she visited Veteran’s and Children’s Hospitals, attended an Army Ball, and worked with diabetes organizations. During the year, she spoke to over 10,000 students in more than 50 schools about making healthy choices.

A magna cum laude graduate of California Lutheran University, Ms. Fontaine’s previous teachers have included Diann Alexander, and Geraldine Decker of the Metropolitan Opera. She graduated with her masters of music with Departmental Honors and the Order of Arete from the Thornton School of Music in Spring 2008. She is a current DMA student, studying with Gary Glaze.
